Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad-2016 is scheduled to be held at Dhaka Teachers Training College on August 27.
Society for the Popularization of Science, Bangladesh, (SPSB) and Bangladesh Freedom Foundation will jointly organize the second edition of the International Science Olympiad.
The organizers shared the details of the event of school students on basic knowledge on science at a media meet at Bishwa Sahitya Kendra at Bangla Motor in the capital on Saturday.
As special guest, Prof Muhammad Zafar Iqbal said, “There are different events being organized across the country to popularize science education among the young learners. The JSO is one of the initiatives to inspire the students to get involve to explore the science.”
The organizers informed that the interested ones can register for the event in two categories – junior and secondary on internet here: spsb.org/bdjso16/registration. Registration charge is Tk 100 which can be paid through mobile.
“Top six winners of the national finals will host the country flag at international Science Olympiad this year which will be take place in Indonesia from December 2-11.We achieved bronze medal in the latest edition of the global event in South Korea last year,”   SPSB Vice-President Munir Hasan told the Daily Observer.
BFF Executive Director Sazzadur Rahaman, scientist Rezaur Rahman spoke among other on the occasion.
